Before you check out, please take a few moments to look through every part of the home — closets, drawers, under beds, bathrooms, and kitchen counters — to make sure you’ve packed up everything that’s yours. A quick double-check can save you the hassle of realizing something special got left behind once you’re already on your way.
We completely understand that these things happen — we’ve all been there! But please note that returning to the property after checkout isn’t possible. While we’ll gladly help you recover your items through our Lost & Found process, in-person pickups aren’t allowed, and here’s why.
🏠 It’s Against Airbnb Policy
Airbnb’s community standards and host safety rules don’t allow guests to re-enter a property after checkout. Once your reservation ends, we’re no longer authorized to provide access. This rule is designed to keep you, future guests, and the property safe.
🔒 Protecting the Comfort and Privacy of Current Guests
Allowing anyone to come back after checkout could make things uncomfortable — especially if new guests have already arrived. Imagine settling into your stay and having someone knock, asking to come in. To keep everyone’s experience private and worry-free, we don’t make exceptions to this rule.
🧳 Why Forgotten Items Can’t Be Retrieved in Person
When something is left behind, our cleaning team safely collects it and stores it in a locked owner’s closet that isn’t accessible to guests or staff outside of scheduled cleanings. Because our team isn’t on-site full-time and cleaning days vary, the item won’t be immediately available for pickup.
📦 Our Lost & Found Process
If you realize after checkout that something’s missing, don’t worry — we’ll help you get it back! Here’s how it works:
-
Let us know as soon as you notice the item is missing.
-
Provide a prepaid shipping label from one of the following carriers:
-
A $50 handling fee applies, as noted in our house rules.
-
We’ll ship your item safely during the next scheduled cleaning visit.
💲 Why There’s a $50 Handling Fee
Because we manage homes in multiple states, we rely on our trusted local cleaning teams to handle shipping requests. Retrieving and mailing an item takes time and effort — our cleaners often have to:
-
Return to the property outside their regular schedule.
-
Carefully package and prepare your item for shipping.
-
Drive to the nearest carrier to drop it off.
The handling fee goes to the cleaning team as fair compensation for their time, gas, and extra work.
❤️ Our Goal
We truly want every guest to feel cared for — even after checkout. These policies are in place to protect everyone’s safety, privacy, and peace of mind.
So before you head out, take a minute to double-check drawers, closets, outlets, and shelves. And if something does happen to get left behind, rest assured — we’ll make sure it finds its way back to you safely and securely.
